Such charts are interesting, but in actual play I just concentrated on a few key values for 3d6.
6=10% 8=25% 10=50% 12=75% 14=90%
These are acccurate to within a percentage point and can be easily remembered without reference to a table.
The score of 14 is also the 50% value on 4d6 which is a useful fact to memorise also.
