Was thinking of how I could save rolling dice, so came up with this method. You will need some different colored D6 to do this. First I determine what the defender will do if he takes a hit (example, block, parry, dodge, etc).
Then I gather the dice. You can use the colors any way you want, here is how I did it.
3 Red d6 for my DX roll to hit (adjust if needed, meaning for example if unskilled with weapon add another d6)
3 Orange d6 for my defender's DX roll (adjust if necessary)
1 Blue d6 for the 'tens' on hit location, 1 Yellow d6 for 'ones' on hit location
3 Green d6 for my damage. 1 Black d6 to set the 'plus' damage.. for example 2d6+3, the black die would have a '3' and NOT be rolled.
Now I can roll all the dice at once...
- Check red dice to see if I hit or not, if missed then stop. - Check the orange dice to see if defender successfully defended (assuming he choose to defend).. - The blue and yellow dice will give me a hit location. - The green dice and black die will give me damage of my attack. (Reduce damage if wearing armor or other protection)
Once you get used to the colors this goes very quickly...
