If you roll a critical hit, use the following against the defender, plus normal damage on a 4 or maximum damage on a 3. If you roll a fumble, use the following against the attacker (no normal damage; just the special effect on 17; special damage and effect on 18).
1d6 1 - right leg (-1d3 DX & Trip/Knockdown) 2 - left leg (-1d3 DX & Trip/Knockdown) 3 - body (-1d6 ST & Trip/Knockdown) 4 - right arm (-1d3 DX & Drop item in right hand; item falls 1d3 spaces away) 5 - left arm (-1d3 DX & Drop item in left hand; item falls 1d3 spaces away) 6 - head (-1d3 IQ & Stunned 1d3 rounds)

i hope you like it. i have a feeling there is a clever way to use this table (or one very similar) for aimed attacks also...but i haven't found it yet. will post when i find one i like.

some alternative thoughts/uses:
- on criticals, let player decide right leg, left leg, body, etc. - if players wish to immobilize foe without killing, make normal attack roll. if successful, roll on the 1d6 table for area struck. roll special damage and effects. no normal damage. (this is like aiming but you don't really care what you hit. you just don't want to hit 'body' and you're striking a bit gingerly because you don't want to damage)
(DX 0 is immobilized; IQ 0 is unconscious; both would regen like EN)
- aiming: 1/2(DX + weapon skill)<round down> test to hit desired area. no normal damage but the special damage is doubled.
thinking of replacing '6 - head' with: 6 - head (-1d6 IQ or ST <player choice> & Stunned equal # of rounds) logic: head is kinda fragile; there is only 1 head just as there is only 1 body, whereas there are 4 arms and legs to hit if immobilization is desired. IQ or ST choice depending on player desire to KILL or knock unconscious.
