roll 2d6. treat 6's as 0's. add the 2 die. this becomes the 10's digit in a percentile score. roll 2d6 again. 6=0 again. add again. this becomes the 1's digit in a percentile score.
you could just subtract 1 from each die, but who likes math?
if you don't mind defacing and defiling your d6's, you can connect the dots of the 6 pips to form a large 0. (my preference) i call this a d5 (with values from 0 to 5)
10's digit roll = 2d5; add the two die; a total of 0 or 10 = 0 1's digit roll = 2d5; add the two die; a total of 0 or 10 = 0
you could throw all 4d5 at once if you have at least 2 die each of 2 different colors.
granularity of d% married with the curve of the d6's
you can still use d5's as d6's
you can generate many different ranges of numbers by adding die together, either as d6's or d5's (1-20 range with a curve = 4d5)
what should we name this die-abolical scheme? d5%?

That is a very ingenious percentile scheme using d6! Welcome back ewookie!

Start whipping up some interesting tables to show off your new system my friend, let's see how it plays!
...and thanks for the B-Day wishes!

i can't really see it being useful for anything. i came up with the d5 over a year ago because i wanted to use d6 as (counting) counters. just recently, i was wishing i could make skill/ability checks on a percentile range with nothing but d6s, thus, this beast was born. however, it is WAY too crunchy to use as repeatedly as skill/ability checks. kinda like using a soda can as a makeshift accordion as far as using for tables of stuff, it's much simpler to just stick with Xd6 by Xd6 or d66, but maybe i lack imagination.

i really know how to complicate things LOL
10's digit roll = 2d6-3 1's digit roll = 2d6-3
